Microsoft Corporation Senior Business Program Manager - Commercial Planning in Multiple Locations, United States

The Enablement & Operations (E&O) team enables Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) Team to better serve every person and organization’s transformation and economic success. How? We design, build, and manage the levers that accelerate commercial growth—including compensation, business performance and insights, planning, skilling, and tooling and engineering.

The MCAPS E&O Planning team plays a pivotal role in driving MCAPS’ commercial priorities across the business. The team leads a collaborative global Fiscal Year (FY) Planning and Landing process inclusive of all MCAPS teams and regions, working closely with the MCAPS Leadership Team and their Planning/Landing Leaders.

As the Senior Business Program Manager for Commercial Planning, you will drive MCAPS fiscal planning operations, including understanding and coordinating key executive reviews and calendar needs across the planning process, while driving cross-team projects, as needed, to meet the changing business environment and manage complex business needs. This role is critical in helping to enable operational excellence and efficiency around key decisions. You will be embedded into the MCAPS commercial planning team, reporting to the Senior Director of Commercial Planning, but will partner closely with the MCAPS executive office teams and planning leader v-team.

Responsibilities

Planning Operations

  • Execute on MCAPS fiscal planning operations (calendaring status tracking, ongoing attendee management, power BI data management, post-mortem analysis, FY26 calendar blocking execution).

  • Create and coordinate commercial planning timelines and ensure consistency among stakeholders.

  • Prepare presentations that highlight key insights on commercial planning milestones, progress tracking, and risk mitigation.

  • Engage with cross-MCAPS Chief of Staff and Business Manager communities to translate fiscal strategy into execution (i.e., workback and milestones) for executive reviews and milestones.

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and Microsoft teams to seek alignment of processes and oversees the creation and implementation of execution plans.

  • Partner with Finance to operationalize their fiscal planning review needs and translate into milestones and reviews.

  • Engage across stakeholder communities to manage and land changes, solicit feedback to improve planning process both in year and for next fiscal.

  • Act as the primary point of contact to Office of Chief Commercial Office (CCO) to support, co-ordinate, & engage for fiscal planning needs

  • Lead postmortem analysis of executive rhythm of business (ROB) for fiscal year planning

  • Lead strategy and landing for fiscal year executive review ROB

Special Projects/Other

  • Drive cross-team projects, as needed, to meet the changing business environment and manage complex business needs

  • Engage in project management or act as a project/program manager for to ensure organization-wide implementation of strategic efforts around planning that require hands-on coordination across multiple functional disciplines and business organizations

  • Draft communications and develop presentations and messaging as needed; partner with communications lead in development as needed

  • Synthesize findings within workstream and identifies links to broader strategic efforts for content and external facing thought leadership

  • Conduct retrospectives to identify areas of improvement and highlight recommended actions to drive efficiency

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 6+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement

  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, etc.) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles

  • OR Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, etc.) AND 5+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR equivalent experience.

Business Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.
