Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, model and other risks.

Department & background on the Position * * The role will reside within the Morgan Stanley Counterparty Credit Risk Data Strategy team within the Credit Risk department. Data Strategy is responsible for the implementation of data standards, governance, and monitoring of data Credit Risk consumes to evidence compliance with Risk Data Policy and the BCBS 239 Principles. Data Strategy identifies data areas causing challenges to the running of the Counterparty Credit Risk processes and proposes long term solutions to improve Credit Risk Data Management. The team is responsible for implementing the Global Risk Data Policy and its related procedures.

Data Strategy seeks an Analyst/Associate for a Mumbai-based Risk Data Office role. The selected candidate will be part of a team focused on partnering with Firm Risk Management functions as well as other areas of the bank including the Data Center of Excellence, IT teams, Operations and Finance to develop and drive strategic solutions for process efficiency and data management challenges. The team’s remit also includes initiatives related to the Firm’s overall compliance with RDA principles, regulatory requirements, strategic projects as well as Credit Risk compliance with the Risk Data Policy.

To be successful, candidates will benefit from relevant experience, an ability to quickly build/maintainstrong internal network/relationships across businesses and control functions, superior communication skills, anda strong desire to learn. The applicant should have a minimum of two years experience at a financial institution or consulting firm, preferably in a risk, finance, operations, compliance or regulatory function. Prior risk management experience and knowledge of financial market data would be a strong plus. * * * *Primary job responsibilities expected to include:

· Implement Global Data Policy and BCBS239 requirements across Credit Risk

· Drive execution of complex strategic risk data compliance projects autonomously

· Engage risk coverage teams to identify and document risk data ownership, authority, sourcing, controls and quality metrics

· Support FRM’s BCBS239 compliance evaluation quarterly through an evidence based FRM-wide assessment program

· Identify and work on areas for improvement in processes related to risk data management incl. identification of data issues

· Senior management reporting and presentations

· Facilitate the automation of KPIs to senior management forums

· Keeping updated on large data projects’ progress upstream of Risk systems

Skills desired include:

· Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, Science or related disciplines

· 2 years of work experience in the financial services industry particularly in risk management, finance, operation or equivalent experience is preferred

· Good understanding of risk management concepts and financial products, particularly with respect to commercial financial market data

· Experience in Data Management and/or Data Governance

· Strong organizational and/or project management skills

· Strong collaboration, relationship building and teamwork skills

· Ability to prioritize projects, meet tight deadlines and deliver high quality work in a fast-paced environment

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· High attention to details

· Good working knowledge in Power Point and Excel

· Nice to have skills: Collibra, SQL querying
