This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 2-3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.

ABout Team

The Workflow Platform team at Parametric:

  • The primary focus is on developing a highly resilient and scalable Business Process Orchestration Platform on the AWS cloud. This platform provides a unified system for defining, implementing, monitoring, controlling, and optimizing all business processes within the firm.
  • Utilizing NoSQL databases, Spring Boot, Java, Python, React, and AWS native applications such as S3, AWS Lambda, AWS ECS/EKS for Docker container orchestration, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, etc.
  • The main goal is to create a platform centered around self-service, enabling non-engineers and citizen developers to engage in the entire lifecycle of building and managing workflows. This is achieved with the same level of SDLC control that a typical engineer would follow, but it remains mostly transparent to the users.

ABOUT THE ROLE**

The Software Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of the firm's strategic Business Process Orchestration, also known as the Workflow Platform. This role requires a solid engineering foundation, interest towards gaining product development mindset, solution architect's mindset, and an approach to building general-purpose and self-service platforms. It also necessitates extensive interaction and communication, coordinating and leading a federated community of citizen developers across the firm for its adoption.

Primary Responsibilities

– Participate in Agile based product development

– Provide flexible solutions to complex business problems using our technology best practices

– Design and develop cloud native (AWS) micro-services with primary focus on correctness and performance

– General understanding of API gateways, security entitlements and event-based system desired

– Integrate with other services in the ecosystem or public API’s and databases

– Apply best in class engineering principles, optimized algorithms, and data structure techniques

– Create unit/integration/functional tests

– Follow technology trends/tools and recommend improvements to our technology when appropriate

– Research new cloud apps/open-source technologies and incorporate in existing services/API’s

Job QUALIFICATIONS**

SKILL SET

Required Experience: 4 years

Skill set: Java / React / BPMN / Cloud Development (AWS preferred) /Microservices Architecture/ REST/Graphql

Primary Skills

– Bachelor’s degree in computer science/computer engineering required

– 4 years of hands-on full stack Java development experience, with React or any other JavaScript based frontend framework

– Experience developing REST and/or GraphQL API horizontally scalable services

– Knowledge about orchestration services, Docker and Kubernetes desired

– Proven experience with test driven development

– Familiarity with GIT version control system

– Working experience with agile development

– Familiarity with continuous integration and build tools like Maven or Gradle

– Hands-on experience with RDBMS and/or NoSql databases like DynamoDB/Redis

– Effective communication skills with business users and other developers

Good to Have Skills

– Experience in Camunda or any other BPMN based Process Orchestration Platform

– Experience in cloud native services development (AWS preferred)

– Experience in event-based architectures and messaging platforms like Kafka is desired

– Experience in building micro-services architecture/containerization

– Experience in Python

– Experience in Financial services Industry
