Description:

The essential function of the position within the organization is to plan, organize, and control all aspects of the student placement process for summer academic programs. The position is responsible for coordinating with the various Business Owners of summer academic programs to ensure accuracy in the student placement process. The position assists in collecting the functional requirements for the development and implementation of the software used to allow families to select academic summer programs. The role will be responsible for testing and supporting the software during the application and placement periods. This support includes implementing and evaluating the placement processes to ensure compliance and cooperation with MNPS policy.

Operations and Support: • Becomes/acts as the subject matter expert for all summer academic program systems. Plans, controls, and evaluates all processes for selection and assignment of students to summer academic programs. • Research and understand business owner expectations to provide requirements that the development team can implement. • Fully understands the business rules, functionality, and interoperability of all summer academic program systems and interrelated systems. Keeps abreast of federal, state, and local public education laws and guidelines. • Liaison between business owners, stakeholders, development teams, and project management to coordinate feedback into an actionable product plan. • Acts as the point of contact for summer academic system(s) technical issues. Investigates and performs root cause analysis. Coordinates with technical teams to communicate and resolve the issue(s). Maintain an issue log for support documentation. Analysis: • Prioritize product features and capabilities. Advise and recommend implementation of new features based on impact, effort, and capacity. • Evaluate and analyze summer academic systems and programs to determine how they can be improved and updated. • Prepares and maintains a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records, and files. Communication: • Assists other departments with developing communication plans regarding the application process for summer programs. • Communicates with other administrators, personnel, and outside organizations to resolve issues and conflicts with student placements at summer academic programs. • Responds to correspondence (e-mails, mail, phone calls, etc.) regarding the assignment of students into summer academic programs.
