The Category Analyst will support Purchased Services and Commercial Products team for all categorization related efforts, including any key projects and strategic initiatives. This role will work closely, and collaborate, with the Purchased Services and Commercial Portfolio team to understand business processes, business needs and objectives. The role will become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Purchased Services and Commercial Product categorization. The role will also help develop and share categorization best practices and standards while assuring data quality is achieved.

Job Summary and Qualifications
The Category Analyst, Information Management, will be managing projects related to applying categorization and the classification of products and services to support HealthTrust spend analytics, strategic sourcing, GPO Operations and members. The role will be responsible for maintaining and updating the enterprise Vendor Categorization Reference database.
What you will do in this role:
Leads efforts to centralize and maintain Vendor Categorization Reference database, which is leveraged by Strategic Sourcing and Spend Analytics.
Supports Purchased Services and Commercial Product Sourcing team by completing Category Taxonomy add and change request. Assures updates are made in a timely and accurate manner.
Researches unrecognized member spend to identify if additional Categorization rules can be applied.
Reviews member spend recognition results to assure accuracy, and supports efforts to create a trusted source of data within organization.
Supports issue tracker by reviewing reported issues, providing timely and thorough responses to internal and external stakeholders.
Helps identify trends related to data quality issues and provide feedback for proactive methods to address issues.
Communicates updates related to project tasks, challenges/risk and exceptions to Supervisor, Project Stakeholders and department leadership as needed.
Responsible for updating analyst user training manuals and document work-flows processes. Includes documenting Standards, “Best Practices,” updating Policies and Procedures.
Provides data analysis and/or data cleansing for multiple business groups both internal and external as directed by supervisor.
Prepares ad-hoc reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends as requested by leadership and stakeholders.
Helps to improve current systems and applications by providing user requirements and completing user testing of new system or product functionality.
Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Collaborates with other teams on standardizing business processes.
Proficient in excel (particularly v-look up and pivot tables)
Healthcare supply chain and product knowledge a plus
What you will need for this role:
Bachelor’s Degree or work experience in lieu of degree
2+ years’ experience in data management and content enrichment to include the following: categorization, reporting, and data analysis.
Healthcare supply chain experience highly preferred.
Excellent communication, written and presentation skills
Ability to research and prepare comprehensive reports
Comfortable performing many project roles without concern of positional appropriateness
Expertise in Excel proficiency using v-look-up, pivot tables, etc.
