Description

Have you ever ordered a product on Amazon websites and when the box arrived wondered how you got it just as promised, what it cost Amazon, and what kinds of systems & processes must be running behind the scenes to power the whole operation? Amazon’s Direct Fulfillment (DF) team is part of the Supply Chain Optimization Technology team, and owns and operates an order fulfillment channel where Amazon can work with vendors to send orders directly to customers. The DF team’s important goal is to exceed the expectations of all our customers by ensuring that their orders, no matter how large or small, are delivered as fast as feasibly possible, safely, on time, in full...every time. As a backdrop to all of this, we hold the safeguarding of our customers’ data used to fulfill their orders as our highest priority. This Program Manager role sits at a critical intersection of business continuity and security compliance for Amazon's DF channel. The position carries significant business impact because failure to complete or pass the assessment results in vendor suspension from the DF platform. This role executes vendor security assessment and other programs that enhance customer data protection while improving the vendor’s ease of doing business and growth opportunity with Amazon.

You'll manage security assessments for thousands of vendors, ensuring they meet Amazon's data protection standards while maintaining business continuity. Your stakeholders will include retail category teams and Amazon Security Foundations. You will work particularly closely with the Third Party Security team which conducts assessments to determine if external entities meet Amazon’s security bar. You will collaborate with category team to communicate the vendor prioritization and request the support. You will daily engage with the vendors via calls/emails for assessment progress. You'll serve as the voice of our vendors internally, collecting operational feedback, and contributing to vendor experience improvement. The role's primary metrics include assessment submission rate, assessment completion rate, and average assessment cycle time. Success in this role means achieving timely vendor assessments completion while maintaining high-quality security standards, ultimately protecting customer data while enabling vendor growth on the DF platform. The program directly impacts Amazon's ability to maintain customer trust and vendor satisfaction in the DF channel.

The ideal candidate for this role combines strong project execution capabilities with stakeholder management skills and a bias for action. They should demonstrate ownership mentality when managing vendor assessment, and maintain high standards while driving fast progress. Key attributes include clear communication abilities, data-driven decision making, and proactive problem-solving mindset.
