The Global Services Finance organization provides best-in-class, cost-effective financial services, and compliance—in a J&J way—to our Operating Companies around the world.

The Account to Report (A2R) process area is a team of credo based, talented, finance experts structured in a Global Process based organization, executing processes in a compliant and efficient way through standardization and automation. The A2R goal is to deliver results through close connection to our corporate and business finance partners while demonstrating a deep understanding of the J&J business.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Be compliant with applicable laws and regulations, and follow guidelines in the J&J Credo

  2. Maintain Operational Excellence

  • Responsible for leading of accounting and daily operations for Account to Report (A2R) teams.

  • Timely closing & execution of financial periods as per closing calendar and in accordance with SLA commitments, fully observing Compliance, Internal Audit & SOX requirements.

  • Accountable for completeness, accuracy and validity of the actuals reported within process/entity scope.

  • Driving deep expertise, ensuring team are fully knowledgeable of the Worldwide Procedures and compliance requirements for respective areas.

  • Lead a large accounting team.

  • Support auditors and legal authorities with the execution of required activities.

  • Ensure adherence, monitor, remediate and align compliance responsibilities with stakeholders. Manage, mitigate and escalate risks on a timely basis.

  • Ensure strong internal controls are in place, to achieve “adequate” internal and external audit ratings.

3. Talent Management

  • Attract, develop, and retain a highly competent, high-performing, motivated and diverse Credo-based team.

  • Develop succession plans for and support career development of the team.

  • Ensure effective performance management within team.

  • Lead Accounting team (team of associates/managers).

4. Be a Trusted Business Partner

  • Champion & Influence strategy & solutions demonstrating strong Business acumen.

  • Internally recruit, mentor, and drive the individual Process SMEs to ensure cross sector, cross region, and cross process alignment, ensuring good documentation is maintained and consistency of a global approach.

  • If assigned a role of Operational Key Contact (OKC) then candidates will be the key liaison point within their Process for a defined Region & Sector with BUF and CFMs, answering queries, coordinating with SMEs/analysts on process and operational matters, resolving issues and updating partners on close status.

Qualifications

Education

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s level degree or equivalent is required, preferably in accounting, finance, or related business discipline.

  • ACA, ICWA, CPA, CMA, MBA and/or other financial certifications is highly preferred.

Required

  • At least 7 - 10 years of professional experience is required.

  • At least 3-4 years of Management / Supervisory experience is required.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels.

  • Ability to frame clear & concise communication across all relevant stakeholders.

  • Be open to new ideas, rapid change and embracing new technologies.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Shared Service Centre of a multinational corporation or BPO.

  • Experience in a Global Account to Report function of a large multi-state company.

  • Ability to handle ambiguity and fluid situations, demonstrating a pragmatic approach.

  • Successfully manage multiple priorities, be very organized and work efficiently to tight deadlines.

  • Solid US GAAP accounting knowledge.

  • Digital/ intelligent automation capabilities.

Other

  • This position will require up to 10-20% % international travel.

  • Candidates may be asked to work shifts to align with global assignments in Americas/EMEA/Asia.

  • Lead/Participate in other Regional/Global/Cross functional duties as assigned.

  • Fluent English, other language skills desirable.
