Nature and Scope A part-time entry level position involving small engineering projects, support of manufacturing facility engineering and maintenance team and CAD drawing updates. 5-40 hours per week available and flexible with school schedule. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. A. Execute projects with guidance of more experience personnel * Develop problem statements/scopes of work. * Identify technical solutions and develop action plans to implement. * Execute action plan to execute project. * Accurately document activities. B. Support Engineering Activities * Execute supporting tasks within large capital projects. * Support cleanroom certification activities. * Update CAD drawings to include project changes. C. Support Maintenance Activities * Develop draft PM/calibration procedures from manuals or mechanic interviews. * Review written PM/calibration procedures for accuracy. * Audit PM/calibration tasks execution on all types of plant equipment. * Provide technical support in troubleshooting breakdowns. C. Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by management. Education Requirements and Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. * Required Qualifications o H.S. diploma or GED required. o Actively working towards a 4 year degree in a technical discipline. o Detail oriented. o Hands-on ability to isolate problems and identify root cause of issues. o Ability to clearly and neatly document work performed. o Ability to work independently with some supervision. o Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written). o Comfortable working in production environment with multiple priorities. o Able to work effectively as a team member. o Works to ensure that customer timelines are understood and met. o Must be able to read documents in Standard English such as Standard Operating Procedures, maintenance schedules and operating manuals o Comfortable in the use of Microsoft Office Applications, including Microsoft Word, and Excel. * Preferred Qualifications o 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or lab environment preferred. o Basic knowledge of electrical systems and electronics. o Basic understanding of pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical control systems such as PID Controllers, smart devices, programmers/communicators, and multimeters. o Basic understanding of engineering principles as they apply to facility and production equipment. o Basic knowledge of instrumentation field wiring and to PLCs (Loop Powered and self-powered instruments, RTDs, thermocouples, etc.). o Some background in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical control problems. o Able to troubleshoot systems and instruments. o Ability to describe technical issues. o Basic knowledge of OSHA safe work practices. Physical Environment and Requirements * Employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
