Housekeeping:
Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by supervisors. Follows personnel policies according to employee handbook, complies with dress code, wears name tag while in the facility, and attends all mandatory personnel meetings.
Job Duties: Maintains resident rooms by cleaning restrooms, walls, baseboards, doors, ceilings, mirrors, dusting, washing windows, removing trash, stc. Moves furniture in order to dry and wet mop floors. Uses wet floor signs to mark wet floors. Dusts and cleans all furniture and fixtures, except smoke detectors, in the following areas: resident room, isolation rooms, nursing stations, day rooms, and shower rooms, using various cleaners, and disinfectant chemicals. Terminal cleaning of resident room upon transfer, discharge, or death. Cleans soiled utility rooms, shins chrome doorplate and handles at least weekly or as needed. Fills out maintenance request slips and turns them into the supervisor. Maintains facility appearance. Performs emergency housekeeping where accidents occur. Restocks and maintains a clear stockroom and housekeeping cart.
Attends and participates in continuing education programs designed to keep staff abreast of changes in your profession, regardless of them being provided by the facility. Attends orientation programs as necessary. Participates in in-service training prior to performing tasks that are new or that employee does not feel competent performing. Interact/communicates with residents, staff and visitors in a courteous manner. Communicates with employees in all departments. Understands confidentiality, residents rights and represents the facility with respect.
Works throughout the facility in resident and common areas. Moves intermittently during work hours. Sits, stands, pushes, bends, stoops and walks intermittently through the workday. May lift and move patients and equipment. Is subject to frequent interruptions. Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc. under all conditions and circumstances. Subject to emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors. Communicates with medical staff, nursing personnel and other department personnel. Subject to callback during emergency conditions. Participates in continuing education programs. Risk of exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions and may be subject to the handling of hazardous chemicals.
