Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Assistant in NEW HAVEN, Connecticut. The role involves various human resources functions in an engaging workplace environment. As an HR Assistant, you will be instrumental in managing recruitment processes, fostering employee relations, and ensuring compliance with labor laws, among other responsibilities.
Responsibilities: • Spearhead the recruiting process, from interviewing to hiring new staff • Manage staff training and development programs to enhance employee skills and productivity • Oversee the administration of benefits and compensation packages to ensure fairness and compliance • Address employee relations issues promptly and professionally, fostering a positive workplace environment • Ensure strict compliance with state and federal labor laws to maintain ethical business practices • Maintain and manage employee records meticulously for easy reference and updates • Develop and implement policies that create a healthy workplace environment • Utilize UKG Pro software for efficient HR management • Facilitate new-employee orientations to ensure smooth onboarding and integration into the company culture • Handle sensitive matters with tact and professionalism, always maintaining a high level of confidentiality. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Human Resources role
• Proficiency in handling Benefit Functions
• Strong Customer Service skills
• Experience in Corporate Recruiting
• Proficient in developing and conducting Employee Training
• Experience in conducting new-Employee Orientations
• Knowledge of Employee Benefit Plan management
• Strong understanding of Employee Relations
• Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal
• Knowledge of Labor Law and Federal Labor Law is essential
• Proficiency in using UKG Pro software
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred.
