Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Clerk with our client in the manufacturing sector based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The selected individual will play a key role in handling accounts payable and receivable, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing general accounting support. This is a short-term contract to full time employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process vendor invoices and disbursements, ensuring accurate matching with purchase orders or vouchers

• Handle daily invoice and credit processing as part of the Accounts Receivable support

• Aid in the collection of past due balances and the reconciliation of General Ledger accounts

• Assist in month-end closing activities and other ad hoc accounting projects

• Correct and revise transaction documents and initiate other necessary actions

• Classify expenditure codes and accounting codes for document coding

• Prepare financial statements and reports by collating information from various sources

• Post financial data to journals, registers, and ledgers, either manually or using electronic equipment

• Resolve discrepancies by investigating all potential sources of disagreement and preparing correction documents as needed

• Assist in maintaining budgetary control by monitoring budgets and initiating or verifying adjustments and transfers

Requirements

• Must have a strong understanding of Account Reconciliation

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) is required

• Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential

• Prior experience with Billing is desired

• Must have excellent Data Entry skills

• Experience in Invoice Processing is a plus

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary

• Familiarity with Oracle is beneficial

• QuickBooks knowledge is highly desirable

• Experience with SAP is advantageous
