Robert Half Accounts Payable Lead in New Orleans, Louisiana

Description

Robert Half has partnered with a rapidly expanding construction company based in New Orleans in search of a highly qualified Accounts Payable Lead. The Accounts Payable Lead will support the accounting department and manage our financial transactions and obligations as it relates to payables. The Accounts Payable Lead will oversee and manage the processing of invoices and payments to company vendors. The incumbent will also monitor discount opportunities, resolve purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and handle all aspects of accounts payable. They will also be handling month-end tasks and preparing financial reports for the upper management.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services.

  • Process accounts payable transactions while maintaining proper record keeping.

  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.

  • Ensure timely, accurate payment of invoices, maintaining level of integrity in the payment process.

  • Produce monthly financial reports and assist with month-end closing activities.

  • Keep track of all payments and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, etc.

  • Ensuring accuracy in the general ledger.

  • Assist in developing and updating accounts payable processes and procedures.

  • Reconcile the payable account on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy.

  • Mentor and guide junior accounts payable team members.

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors as needed.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry.

  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures.

  • Proficient in data entry, analysis, and management.

  • Understanding of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) payments would be advantageous.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

  • Advanced experience with Excel, SAP or other ERPs.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and work with highly sensitive data and information.
