We are in search of a dedicated and strategic VP of Finance to join our team in New Orleans, Louisiana. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the financial health and advancing the strategic objectives of our organization. This role involves overseeing all aspects of financial management, treasury functions, and fiscal planning to ensure the financial integrity of our organization. Responsibilities:

• Act as the senior advisor on all financial matters, providing strategic insights and recommendations

• Lead the development, execution, and monitoring of short-and long-term financial plans based on operational cash flow and balance sheet objectives

• Direct the Finance team in the preparation of financial analyses to accurately evaluate and assess the organization's financial position

• Develop comprehensive 'dashboard' reports on key financial metrics to regularly update senior leadership on financial operations and performance

• Oversee all accounting functions, including operations, timely financial reporting, and advising on all accounting matters

• Ensure periodic financial reports accurately measure the financial condition of the organization, including performance against prior year period and budget

• Direct and oversee the annual financial statement preparation and audit process; act as liaison with external auditors

• Oversee accounting, compliance, and reporting for external grants and sponsored research

• Implement and maintain strong internal controls, including regularly reviewing and updating appropriate internal financial policies, and communicating to responsible parties

• Supervise the retention of financial records and information

• Assess, review, and recommend technology systems enhancements to meet current and anticipated needs of the Finance Department

• Manage all financial operations, from daily payments and student accounts receipts to working capital cash position/short-term investments, to debt issuance and capital structure.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in overseeing Accounting & Finance functions

• Proven ability in Auditing practices and procedures

• Proficiency in handling budget & forecasting processes in an organization

• Knowledge of capital management and its application

• Ability to perform cash flow analysis

• Familiarity with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A)

• Experience in treasury management
