Purpose : Contributes to the overall success of the FX Sales desk in the United States ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

What You’ll Do

  • Embrace a customer focused culture, deepening client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

  • Identifies and develops business opportunities with clients, cross-selling existing relationships across other areas and product groups.

  • Drive customer expansion, through adding new customers and expanding our footprint with new clients

  • Evaluates and analyzes the hedging needs of Corporate and Institutional clients, including understanding the fundamental risk management priorities and product needs.

  • Extensively leading client coverage for a portfolio of accounts, fostering partnership across the entire FICC product suite

  • Production of adequate market color and trade ideas, in addition to creating linkages between our client base and the trading desk.

  • Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits.

  • Creates an environment in which the team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

  • Develop and learn the FX business procedures and processes.

  • Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

What You’ll Bring

  • Undergraduate degree required (preferably in a related discipline such as Finance, Economics, and Business).

  • Strong product knowledge and understanding of financial markets.

  • Excellent customer relationship skills

  • Understanding of the FX Global Code and policies specific to markets where we trade FX
