The Opportunity
This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of Assistant Professor is an exciting one. Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one of the nation's foremost academic health science centers, works with one of the nation's premier health systems, New York-Presbyterian Hospital. The Division of Rheumatology in the Department of Pediatrics is seeking an academic faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor in Pediatrics. The position will be a full-time Columbia University faculty position with full fringe benefits. The individual must be able to advance medical knowledge and translate it into clinically relevant strategies for diagnosing and treating rheumatologic conditions. Rheumatology is an integral diagnostic and consultation service for our inpatient, infusion, and outpatient services.
Key Responsibilites
Responsibilities will include patient care and clinical and/or basic research participation. The ideal candidate will spend 50% of their effort in the clinical setting and 50% in research and should be able to develop niche clinical programs and compete for independent research funding.

- Must have an MD or DO degree and an active NYS Medical License.
- Must be board certified/board eligible in Pediatric Rheumatology.
- Prior history of research funding that demonstrates an interest in pursuing an independent research career in the future.
