New York University Assistant Professor Position in Theoretical, Computational, and/or Data-driven Astrophysics or Planetary Science in New York, New York

The Department of Physics of New York University (NYU) seeks to make a faculty appointment in theoretical, computational, and/or data-driven astrophysics or planetary science. The opening is at the tenure-track Assistant Professor level and the appointment is expected to begin September 1, 2025.

Astrophysics research at NYU is conducted in the Center for Cosmology and Particle Physics (CCPP). The CCPP community pursues a broad range of research in astrophysics, cosmology, and high energy physics in a vibrant, collaborative scientific setting, supported by a vigorous visitor program that extends its reach nationally and internationally. We are eager to broaden the realms of research at CCPP, but are also open to strengthening existing areas of expertise, so candidates in all areas of astrophysics and planetary science are encouraged to apply.

Pay Transparency Statement:

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $89,000 - $129,000. Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in physics, astrophysics, or a related discipline. Candidates are expected to establish a leading research program in their field, as well as teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
