Associate Director of Faculty and Staff Recruitment
POSITION DETAILS
This position reports to the Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning unit in University Human Resources. The unit supports CUNY’s 25 campuses by providing technology and services to support faculty and staff recruitment. It also supports programs to hire in hard-to-recruit professions and programs promoting the employment of individuals with disabilities. Its primary internal clients are Human Resources Directors and Chief Diversity Officers.
Reporting to the University Director of Workforce Planning and Talent Acquisition, the Associate Director implements university-wide programs to identify and recruit talent and to support CUNY’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Oversee and develop job distribution networks.
Develop candidate communication channels and use feedback to enhance candidate experience.
Develop and execute outreach initiatives for hard-to-fill positions.
Create engaging marketing content for career sites and other media platforms.
Educate and collaborate with recruiters, diversity officers, and Human Resources managers to improve recruitment effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Oversee recruitment-related compliance and policy requirements.
Use data insights to report progress and identify improvements.
Seek out and evaluate emerging practices.
Collaborate with IT and others to design and implement effective recruiting technology.
Help facilitate our transition to a new recruiting platform, scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.
NOTE :
Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Our office is located in downtown Manhattan with occasional travel throughout New York City. We have a commitment to professional development and the Associate Director will participate in training and professional association activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required.
Preferred:
Advanced degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
Track record of successful recruitment and talent acquisition
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in recruitment software, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft 365
Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights
In-depth understanding of best practices and compliance requirements in recruiting
Previous experience in higher education
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Manages University-wide recruitment and diversity policies, procedures, and initiatives to support CUNY's strong commitment to a diverse and respectful workplace.
Oversees the implementation, administration, and communication of University recruitment and diversity programs
Collaborates with college Chief Diversity Officers and campus management to develop and implement programs, prepare plans and reports, perform internal compliance audits, and resolve questions and concerns
Prepares and trains on CUNY compliance mandates and relevant city, state, and federal statutes such as Title VII, Title IX (Sexual Harassment Policies), Section 504, and the Americans with Disabilities Act
Works directly and cooperatively with external governmental agencies in order to prepare and share University and campus statistical information and reports
Collects, analyzes, and prepares University reports, identifying and presenting findings, patterns and trends, and recommending University policy and procedural changes
Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range is $110,329 - $117,805, commensurate with credentials, education and experience.
