Cover Whale Business Development Associate (Hybrid) in New York, New York

Cover Whale (https://www.coverwhale.com/about/) is rapidly expanding and looking to build a dynamic team of Business Development professionals. The Business Development Associate will report to the Regional Business Development Leader and support strategies to increase premium production in their region. This role involves managing smaller, established partners, and newly onboarded partners, ensuring their successful integration and growth. The Associate will also develop strategies for these partner cohorts and provide key insights on their portfolio's makeup during quarterly reviews.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with underwriting, marketing, and development teams to develop, manage, and drive distribution and partner premium generation.

  • Manage relationships with Tier 3 partners and newly onboarded (Tier 4) partners to meet or exceed revenue goals.

  • Represent Cover Whale in meetings with distribution partners.

  • Identify and execute opportunities to further engage with current partners.

  • Establish, track, and report on KPIs while routinely meeting or exceeding goals.

  • Assist in the constant improvement of business development, partner management, and onboarding processes.

  • Drive better brand image amongst our current trading partners and prospects with continuous outreach.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced project management environment and/ or delivering consulting projects in customer-facing roles a plus, within the insurance industry a plus

  • Experience with onboarding and guiding new customers toward realizing and repeating value

  • Proven ability to manage a portfolio of accounts with keen prioritization and multitasking abilities

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; you have the unique ability to talk about technical details and business strategy, in the same conversation

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of a company and organization, including executive and C-level

  • Exceptional phone and video presence and professional communication skills; proven ability to remain composed when faced with difficult issues and tight deadlines.

Compensation:

The base annual salary range for this role is $85k-$95K and will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which also includes a discretionary bonus of 10% and other Cover Whale-sponsored benefits.
