Job Description
The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County (“BXDA”) is charged with the twin goals of ensuring public safety and striving for equal justice for the over 1.4 million members of the Bronx County community. By “Pursuing Justice with Integrity,” the BXDA places a focus on assistance for crime victims while simultaneously ensuring fairness to defendants. Moreover, the BXDA aims to balance the need to seek appropriate punishment for certain crimes while recognizing when punitive measures do not adequately advance justice. In furtherance of this mission, the BXDA seeks experienced and enthusiastic Data Collection and Grant Support Specialist for the Youth Part (Operations and Budget Division). The Data Collection and Grant Support Specialist will capture and analyze data from the Youth Part and provide grant support. More specifically, the Data Collection and Grant Support Specialist will be responsible for a wide range of analytic and research efforts, including but not limited to developing data collection protocols with outside partners; creating an internal data management system; conducting qualitative and quantitative data analysis to evaluate program effectiveness; drafting reports for review and federal submission; and developing data visualizations for internal and external presentations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
Overseeing projects that track and measure the effectiveness of programs related to youth offenses. This includes developing key metrics and verifying data related to program results.
Finding and recommending new ways to collect data and improve current measurement tools, ensuring comprehensive information is gathered to support program development.
Identifying areas where programs or processes are not meeting expectations. Developing and recommending strategies to address and resolve these issues.
Supporting the design and improvement of programs aimed at addressing youth and criminal justice issues. This includes tracking program outcomes, gathering relevant data, and assessing overall program effectiveness.
Assisting in the evaluation of pilot programs, helping to develop tools and resources that could allow successful initiatives to be replicated on a larger scale and seeking methods to achieve sustainability.
Writing reports on program outcomes, challenges, and recommendations. Creating visual materials (such as charts and graphs) to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders and others.
Collaborating with other office teams to identify overlapping data collection efforts, address gaps in data, and streamline processes for better outcomes.
Attending relevant training sessions and meetings to stay updated on best practices and share progress on ongoing projects.
Taking on other responsibilities and tasks as needed to support the department’s goals.

Qualifications
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
