Job Description

Data Engineer II

Exciting Opportunity at MSK

We are seeking aData Engineer IIto join our Data Management team. In this role you will be shaping and maintaining the data infrastructure of our organization. Positioned as a mid-level professional, you will be tasked with making tactical decisions based on objectives set by higher-level management. You are responsible for developing and managing data pipelines that ensure the seamless flow of data from various sources into our state-of-the-art accessible and reliable repository systems. Your work will involve integrating, transforming, and preparing data for analysis, supporting the organization’s efforts to derive insights and drive decision-making.

Role Overview:

  • Leverage clinical and data domain knowledge to build data extract, delivery, and transformation processes to meet user requirements.

  • Build individual and integrated data domains and datamarts as needed with analytical data transformations to support Dashboards and other systems of insight

  • Work with the latest tools to maintain data in our repositories

  • Apply Agile practice/ DevSecOps and Design thinking principles

  • Drive initiatives through analysis, design, test, and implementation phases. execute operational tasks, work on processes automation, troubleshoot, and devise solutions to user issues and enhancement requests.

    Key Qualifications:

  • 4-7 years demonstrated ability in data technical solutions.

  • Working Experience of Agile practices using Rally.

  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).

  • Knowledge of cloud-based data services and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience with deploying and managing data solutions in the cloud.

  • Proficient in SQL, PySpark, Databricks, DBT, Github, Airflow

  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proficient in using Office tools, including Outlook, Teams, Lucidchart, and other productivity software, to enhance communication, collaboration, and workflow efficiency.

    Core Skills:

  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex data issues.

  • A team player, passionate about learning new technology/methodology.

  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • An effective communicator who possess team and customer-focused competency.

  • Resilient in recovering from setbacks and skilled at finding detours around problems.

    Additional Information:

  • Location: 633 Third Avenue, NY

  • Reporting to Director, Data Management

  • Schedule: Hybrid, 4 days a month onsite

    Pay Range: $118,800 - $196,200
