Overview

The Director of Strategic Initiatives is responsible for leading and executing critical organizational projects and initiatives that drive the long-term strategic goals of NYU Steinhardt. This role involves working closely with senior leadership to identify, develop, and implement strategic plans that enhance the school’s growth, efficiency, and overall mission. The Director will direct high-impact projects, ensuring alignment with NYU Steinhardt’s vision and objectives while managing cross-functional project teams, stakeholders, and resources to ensure successful outcomes. A vital aspect of the role involves liaising with internal and external offices, analyzing industry trends, evaluating risks, and making data-driven decisions to guide the organization toward sustainable success.



Responsibilities

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree In Business, Public Affairs, or Business Analytics.

Required Experience:
10+ years relevant experience, with some Human Resources experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include supervisory experience, employee relations, recruitment, and intermediate knowledge of compensation administration.

Preferred Experience:
Related experience in an academic or nonprofit setting. Skilled at directing large-scale projects and working with Senior Leadership.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, interviewing, problem solving, and negotiating skills. Knowledge of human resources concepts, practices, legislation, and procedures. Ability to supervise work processes and staff. Ability to develop and interpret policies and procedures, to interact effectively with individuals at all levels and effectively communicate policies and procedures and resolve problems for a diverse population. Knowledge of standard office software.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of University administrative and financial systems, including PeopleSync, UDW+, myTime, and AP Workflow.



Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $140,000.00 to USD $160,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
