Description
Trains and mentors MOAs in all aspects of the position. • Assist the Nurse Manager and the Assistant Nurse Manager with a bi-weekly inventory, identifying all medical items needed to order for the operation of the clinic, and forwards to list to the Nurse Manager and Assistant Nurse Manager. • Monitors the MOAs performance to ensure adherence to approved policies and procedures. • Assists the Nurse Manager and the Assistant Nurse Manager with assigned duties as needed. • Performs the duties as a preceptor for newly hired MOAs during orientation and completes the necessary forms re: orientation within the assigned timeframe. • Effective at taking appropriate initiative. • Reports problems, concerns or inconsistencies to Nurse Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager for further action. • Performs as a MOA as required to fill in for vacations, leave time, lunch hours, and to assist MOAs during heavy patient sessions, etc. • Demonstrates flexibility in the acceptance and completion of work assignments. • Maintains patient/employee confidentiality in the management of information. • Contributes to a cooperative, professional and mutually supportive work environment, being a team player. Demonstrated proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EPIC). Must have proven ability to maintain professional conduct and confidentiality in the care of patients. Works as a team player. Demonstrates respect and professionalism in interactions Maintains positive public relations image with peers, patients and visitors by presenting a positive and helpful attitude. Decision making and problem solving The ability to develop a well thought out solution within a reasonable time frame or seek appropriate guidance from a direct supervisor. Able to see, hear, read and write English. Demonstrates competencies in auditory testing, visual testing, EKG, venipuncture and taking vital signs.
Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED required
Formal training in a program leading to certification as a Medical Assistant
Certificate from an accredited medical assistant school
Minimum of 1 year experience
Bi-lingual Spanish preferred
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated competence in auditory testing, visual testing, EKG, venipuncture and taking vitals
Certification as a Phlebotomist or EKG technician preferred
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
Current Infection Control Certificate
