How you'll make an impact:

We're a team of Data and Software Engineers that work on demystifying advertisement performance data. We support our vital Ads Engineering and SXM Media org's ads data needs. From supporting ingestion of new data to maintaining back-end data systems that drive reporting, we are a collaborative team and are fortunate to get to work with a myriad of other Eng. teams and business and sales users who rely on insights powered by the data we provide. We work with exciting big data technologies and are looking for engineers who enjoy building and supporting a future vision to support our data & reporting needs, while challenging the status quo!

What you'll do:

The Senior Software Engineer is a hands-on IC position, reporting to the Associate Director of Engineering, in the DIAS (Data Insights and Analytics Services) department. With your expertise you will help execute and deliver well balanced software components spanning the DIAS realm. You will collaborate with our backend, product, and quality engineering partners to ensure we're building and delivering the best data products for our stakeholders. You will also be required to assemble and work with large, complex sets of data and provide guidance to the business by transforming functional requests into holistic engineering designs for the team to implement.

  • Tackle complex tasks spanning across multiple functional areas/departments.

  • Offer permanent guidance to your team members and possibly to people from other teams.

  • Become a trusted technical interviewer partner for other teams/departments.

  • Assume tech leadership on tasks spanning multiple functional areas.

  • Frequently present and review architecture solutions for projects spanning multiple functional areas.

  • Address improvements spanning across multiple functional areas with tech projects proposals.

  • Engage in coaching and mentoring of people from other tech teams.

What you'll need:

  • Over 5 years of experience with advanced SQL and/or NoSQL distributed databases, including Postgres, Redis, NoSQL, and/or NewSQL.

  • Experience with any programming language such as Python, Java, C/C++.

  • Excellent understanding of data structures.

  • Experience with containerized application development technologies such as Docker, EKS, Kubernetes.

  • Familiarity with software architecture concerns and modeling tools.

  • Experience in developing API design, system design, and object-oriented design.

  • Experience with a modern cloud solution (preferably AWS or GCP).

  • Passion for continuous integration, testing, and automation.

  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to communicate with business stakeholders and translate their requests into technical specifications.

  • Willingness to take ownership of new projects and drive them to completion.

  • Ability to build technical and functional documentation for tasks, ensuring it is always up to date and comprehensible to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $95,100 to $170,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
