S&P Global Software Engineer Intern - Early Careers in New York, New York

The Team: Core Services is a global technology team to foster innovation, accelerate focuses on building modern cloud native frameworks and platforms while offering employees the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. We are building a cloud native microservices framework that is a ground up on-cloud and let engineering teams create production ready cloud native microservices faster.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Design, develop, and deploy full stack applications using cutting-edge technologies like Java, Python, JavaScript.

  • Build robust Core APIs using Java/Python and React to drive seamless user experiences.

  • Ensure code quality and reliability by writing comprehensive unit tests and participating in technical design reviews.

  • Collaborate closely with teammates to brainstorm solutions, share knowledge, and tackle complex problems.

  • Follow best practices to deploy completed work to QA and production environments, adhering to our rigorous release standards.

  • Assist in fine tune Generative AI models (LLM).

  • Collect and process data for test and evaluation of model.

  • Conduct research on improving model prompts and inference.

  • Test new AI models and their performances.

  • Evaluate AI Generative Output .

  • Deploy AI Models using docker and k8s.

  • Integrate AI models for Generative output using toolchain like langchain.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $25 to $35. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

To be an ideal fit for the role, you should have:

  • Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, with expected graduation date in the year 2026.

  • Knowledge of object-oriented design, design patterns.

  • Has knowledge of software development engineering processes.

  • Understanding of essential technologies: Java, Python, JavaScript

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to identify opportunities for innovation to enhance our offerings.

  • Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task across projects.

  • Understanding of how LLM works and experience with LLM integration.

  • Experience working with Lanchain, ollama4j , Open AI APIs or Meta Ollama.

  • Exposure to Prompt Engineering.

  • Exposure to Vector Databases or Embeddings generation.

Additional Prefered Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms like Docker, Kubernetes.

  • AWS certifications/experience.

  • Experience working with RL or RLHF.

  • Experience working with vector databases such as pine cone, opensearch, FAISS.

  • Knowledge of working with AI Agents or Agentic AI Frameworks .
