Burlington Territory Director of Field Operations in New York, New York

Overview

The Territory Director of Field Operations will lead a team of Regional Managers and oversee operations execution across >250 stores in partnership with Territory Senior Vice Presidents and Regional Vice Presidents of stores. The role will be the standard bearer for operational excellence in the field and a thought partner for field leaders to drive results in stores. Territory Directors are accountable for achieving operations key performance indicators in their territories. They are also responsible for driving adoption of new processes and tools as well as sustaining changes in stores across customer service, expense management, scheduling, receiving, cashiering and others. As ultimate experts in Burlington’s operations, they will act as a bridge between the home office and stores as well as functional partners from Human Resources to Supply Chain and Asset Protection to Real Estate.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead operations planning for a Territory in partnership with Territory Senior Vice Presidents and Regional Vice Presidents.Identifyopportunities, develop business cases, create executionplansand manage change. Contribute to operations strategy and planning across the chain.

  • Oversee andfacilitateprogram launches and operational tests in stores. Coach field leaders on implementation, assess results, andidentifyimprovements.

  • Represent process standards in stores and guide on-process execution.Deliver operations KPIs to goal from back of the house efficiency to sales floor productivity and cashiering speed.Teach Regional Vice Presidents/District Managers to diagnose operational issues and solve them.

  • Engageclosely withField,Human Resources, Asset Protection, Supply Chain, and other functions tohelp storesoperateat their best.Represent field operations in company-wide initiatives, such as new store system projects and talent development programs.

  • Train, coach, and performance manage teams and mentortalent in operations roles. Establish internal processes to foster professional growth and capability development to create a high-performingorganization.

Education and Qualifications:
Education:

  • B.A. or equivalent in operations, engineering, finance or related field

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred

Experience:

  • 12 years of experience in retail

  • 5 years of experience in store operations or field at leadership level in national scale retail

  • Demonstrated problem solving, people management, cross-functional collaboration, and communicationskills

  • Proven ability toinfluence senior leaders anddevelop people through coaching andtraining

  • Experience in helping shape company initiativesand developSOPs
