Responsible for performing laboratory testing assigned to the department. Maintain knowledge of all current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) required to perform effectively. Maintain excellent communication with the Department and other Laboratory Services personnel. Competently perform all assigned departmental duties. May perform Pre-Analytical tasks (receipt, qualification, and preparation of samples for testing), CLIA waived tests, and moderate and/or high complexity testing on patient, donors, or biologic products using routine chemistries utilizing automated/semi-automated methods with internal support systems.
Responsibilities
Recognize and report unusual test results in a timely manner to appropriate management.
Operate equipment utilizing established protocols and within quality control limits.
Recognize equipment malfunctions and/or technical problems and take appropriate steps to resolve.
Maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Prepare and maintain reports/records and perform computer data entry.
Maintain departmental supplies within established inventory levels.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science discipline
0-1 year of laboratory experience (academic or industry)
Proficiency in chemistry, biology, and medical laboratory equipment
Knowledge of CLIA regulations
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with automated/semi-automated laboratory methods
Ability to perform Pre-Analytical tasks
Excellent communication skills
Work Environment
The work environment includes both warehouse and laboratory settings. The laboratory is large, well-lit, clean, and provides a positive working atmosphere. The company is currently expanding and adding a Microbiology laboratory. Three openings are available with varying shifts: Night shift (Sunday-Tuesday, 7pm-7:30am with a rotating Saturday), Night shift (Wednesday-Friday, 7pm-7:30am with a rotating Saturday), and Day shift (Sunday-Tuesday, 7am-7:30pm with a rotating Saturday). Training schedules may vary slightly from regular working hours. Performance reviews are conducted every 6 weeks to ensure continuous improvement and feedback.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
