In the role of Business Systems Consultant, you’ll tackle complex challenges as you develop and diversify your professional experiences while helping others grow and develop their skills.

Our Clinical Development Information Research team is expanding, and we are seeking a talented Generative AI Consultant to join us in pushing the boundaries of what's possible with artificial intelligence. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of generative artificial intelligence solutions and their applications across R&D Clinical Development to accelerate the delivery of our portfolio. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize AI solutions that drive business value and innovation by collaborating with stakeholders to identify opportunities for applying generative AI technologies. This role will proactively seek out strategic business opportunities with business unit leaders and guide teams through the identification, design, delivery and operation of innovative AI solutions. You will analyze business processes, assess use case feasibility, elicit and document business requirements, work with technologists to evaluate solution alternatives, and build implementation plans outlining cost, budget and schedule for implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Driving BTS & business partnerships to shape the utilization of generative AI for Clinical Development, working directly with stakeholders to understand specific business processes, business drivers, and business strategy across multiple business units; Identifying and communicating resulting needs and opportunities for business process improvement that can be enabled via GenAI technology.

  • Investigates and understands capabilities of existing solutions and technologies already in use across the business area and similar and interconnected business areas in AbbVie and industry.

  • Developing business relationships and integrating activities with other functions to ensure alignment and successful implementation in support of project efforts. Manage relationships between clients involved and BTOs to ensure effective communication between the groups is occurring. Brokers services within BTS on behalf of customers; coordinates portfolio of solutions and identifies interdependencies.

  • Lead workshops and training sessions to educate internal teams and clients on generative AI and its potential applications.

  • Support the development and implementation of AI strategies, aligning them with organizational goals and objectives.

  • Develop documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and project status to stakeholders.

  • Maintaining documentation related to the generative AI solutions.

  • Continuously identifying opportunities for process/solution improvements.

  • Establishing and maintaining high-quality relationships with all levels across the Clinical Development Operations business and with external vendor partners where appropriate.

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. Identifies current and emerging business needs and evaluates alternative technology solutions using standard information systems methodologies and best practices.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 6 years’ experience, PhD 2 years’ experience in business information systems, or a discipline closely related to the client area served.

  • Demonstrated experience of successfully delivering AI projects, preferably supporting a Clinical Development function.

  • Experience with Agile delivery methodologies, including Scrum, Jira, Confluence.

  • Proven experience with identification, definition and delivery of generative AI solutions.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to effectively lead and facilitate meetings with customers and technical team members.

  • Must be deliverable focused and detail oriented.

  • Must exhibit exceptional teamwork skills.

  • Must have a strong customer focus.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred:

  • Technical writing experience

  • Experience working in the Life Sciences industry and/or GXP validated systems

  • Experience working with consulting focus

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. Salary: $103,500 - $197,000
