Insight Global Railroad Inspector in North Haven, Connecticut

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Rail Track Inspector to join an engineering and construction services company located in North Haven, CT. They would be working on complex railroad and rail transit projects in Connecticut and Massachusetts, serving clients such as the Connecticut DOT (CTDOT), Amtrak, and the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA). This field-based position involves supervising railroad construction activities conducted by Railroad Force Account and contractors to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and contract documents. Key responsibilities include inspecting construction work to confirm adherence to approved shop drawings, preparing daily inspection reports, documenting track outages, and performing field measurements to validate pay quantities. The Rail Track Inspector will collaborate with contractors, the railroad, and clients to assess progress and maintain project schedules, monitor contractor performance for quality standards, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Additionally, the role involves documenting material deliveries and reviewing certificates for conformity with quality standards, as well as updating project record drawings throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills and Requirements

-8+ years of experience with Railroad inspections

-Overall knowledge of Track construction and upgrade (Signals, Track, Electrical, or Bridge)

-Metro North Experience -CT DOT experience

-High speed Upgrades for railroad tracks null
