Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Maintenance Engineer II at our facility you will have the opportunity to be both an expert in your field and a caregiver, providing important services for our patients and staff. Every role has an impact on our patients’ lives and you have the opportunity to make a difference. You will joining an impressive team that prides themselves on keeping our hospital functioning well and looking its best. In this role:
You will mentor Plant personnel and coordinate, evaluate, and direct designated personnel engaged in emergency and non-emergency work.
You will complete and oversee work order repairs, preventative maintenance, construction, electrical, HVAC, Medical gas system, and Plan Operations functions.
You will help with training activities and the scheduling of operators.
You will perform regular device testing to ensure the hospital’s compliance with regulatory agencies and federal and state government requirements.
You will respond to all emergency codes and have the knowledge of job-specific accountabilities for each code.
You will help maintain and repair HVAC controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas. You will perform urgent corrective, routine, and requisition repairs of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems as required
What qualifications you will need:
Minimum 4 years experience in maintenance, repair, and building experience and experience in 3 or more of the following areas; pipefitting, HVAC, steam-operated systems; electronic building control systems, plumbing, refrigeration systems, diesel engines, generators, locksmith, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, welding, and building construction.
One year of experience with life safety and hazardous materials programs in a hospital environment.
Management experience preferred.
Working knowledge of hospital mechanical systems, including energy management and control system, HVAC systems, medical gases, electrical distribution, emergency power, fire protection/alarm systems, etc.
Working knowledge of regulatory requirements pertinent to health care facilities, including JCAHO, NFPA 99, NFPA 101, OSHA and EPA
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
Utah Driver’s license
