Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an IT Security Specialist in the construction/contractor industry. This position is based in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and protocols within the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive security policies, procedures, and protocols

• Conduct systematic security audits and risk assessments

• Create and maintain all IT Security documentation

• Develop and implement a company-wide security training program

• Collaborate with IT staff to ensure system security and compliance with NIST Standards

• Provide training and guidance to IT staff on IT Security best practices

• Stay updated on the latest security threats and industry trends

• Maintain and update the company’s disaster recovery plan and lead annual tabletop exercises to test the plan

• Manage user access controls and identity management

• Install and manage network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, access points, and VPN

• Install, configure, and maintain all IT Security software including anti-virus programs, intrusion detection systems, and SIEM systems

• Serve as backup to Helpdesk when necessary

• Travel to remote offices/job sites as needed. Requirements • Minimum of three years of professional experience working as an IT Security Specialist or a related role within the construction or contractor industry

• Proficient in Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, and Cisco Technologies

• Strong understanding of Cloud Technologies, including AWS Technologies

• Experience in Database management and AB Testing

• Familiarity with Auditing practices in IT security

• Proficiency in Configuration Management

• Advanced understanding of Cyber Security

• Experience with Cisco Products and Cisco Routers

• Familiarity with Juniper systems

• Demonstrable skills in Network Administration and Network Security

• Experience with Palo Alto Networks

• Knowledge of Routers and Telecom systems

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred

• Relevant certifications like CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are advantageous

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to work in a team, as well as independently when required
