Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Auburn Hospitality. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.
As the General Manager (GM) at Element-Opelika you are responsible for leading the hotel team, fostering a service-oriented culture, and driving revenue generation. This role involves overseeing hotel operations in a modern, eco-conscious hotel located in a prime area, ensuring guest satisfaction, and managing labor and expenses in a competitive market. You will be the champion of the hotel’s internal and external communications and record keeping. You are responsible for exceeding brand standards and building awareness of the hotel and brand in the local community.
Responsibilities
· Lead the hotel team and provide a service-minded and eco-conscious, sustainability focused culture that meets active guest lifestyles.
· Drive revenue generation and market share performance.
· Manage labor and expenses effectively.
· Ensure compliance with franchise quality assurance and guest inspection results.
· Enhance guest and associate satisfaction.
Requirements:
· 3-5 years previous General Manager experience, preferably with Marriott.
· Experience in Food & Beverage/Restaurant Management/Bar Sales.
· Experience with hotel management software and POS systems (Marriott preferred).
· High energy focus on Element by Wyndham values and eco-friendly environment.
· Strong leader, self-motivator, team builder with passion for driving revenue and attracting associates in a competitive market.
Nice-to-haves
· Experience in a senior-level hotel management role.
· Experience with Marriott systems (Opera, Lightspeed, etc)
· BS degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or relevant field
· BCBS of AL Health, Dental, and Vision plans
