Summary:

The primary function of a Social Worker is to assist the resident in adjusting with the social and emotional aspects of placement.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

• Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work

• Must be able to read, write and understand the English language

EXPERIENCE

• Social Work experience in Long Term Care facility preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

• Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members and visitors

• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into the existing Social Work Services

• Subject to call back in the event of an emergency

• Communication skills which may be inclusive of approach, tone of voice, speed of communication, respectfulness and non verbal communication
