Xylem Expert Field Service Technician in Orlando, Florida

Xylem is looking for a Field Service Technician to report to our Orlando location and service our water treatment equipment at customer sites in the surrounding area.
What your day will look like as a Field Service Technician
The Field Service Technician will be responsible for the installation, service, and maintenance of our water purification equipment, utilizing a company service vehicle, within our Light Industries Division. Equipment specific training will be provided. P revious technical/mechanical/plumbing experience is especially encouraged.
Core Responsibilities and Tasks:
Perform installations, start-ups, tests, troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, and sanitizations to the following high purity water treatment equipment.
Multimedia Filters, Carbon Beds and Water Softeners
Reverse Osmosis and Nano Filtration
Continuous Deionization and Resin Bed Deionization
Ultraviolet Sterilization and Final Filtration
Industrial and Laboratory Water Purification Systems
Installation and maintenance of three phase and single phase pumps including replacing mechanical seals
Read and interpret P&IDs and complete complex PVC and CPVC piping projects
Read and interpret Electrical Wiring Diagrams and complete low voltage wiring of the associated components
Provide semi-complex training to customers on products and services, as well as documenting all installations, inspections, maintenance, and repair work
Maintain an adequate inventory of replacement parts and tools required for service
Effectively identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them including but not limited to piping, electrical and mechanical repairs
Provide excellent customer service while identifying any sales opportunities for new equipment, expendables, or service contracts
Follow an after-hours on-call schedule and respond to all problems in an appropriate and timely manner to minimize the customer’s downtime
Coordinate with customers to schedule service and installations
Maintain company service truck and a clean driving record
Position Requirements:
1. FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
• HS diploma or GED
Preferred:
• Tech Cert, Degree or industry specific license(s)
2. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
• Ability to obtain all required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.)
• Ability to obtain DOT Medical card
• Clean driving record
• Work experience preferred
• 5 to 7 years of technical work experience with water treatment equipment
• Electrical, mechanical, diesel, fusion experience depending on business unit
• Work without direct supervision and provides coaching/training to junior-level technicians
• Technically sound
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Must have customer service experience
• Demonstrates critical thinking and complex troubleshooting ability
• Basic controls ability (PLC)
• Synthesizes technical information and communicates it clearly
• Derives insight from customer experience to produce outcomes and solve complex problems often in novel and unexpected ways

Salary range:
$54,000.00 - $86,500.00
