Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. This role involves managing and maintaining delinquent accounts, ensuring they are brought to a current status, and handling various tasks related to accounts receivable processes. The ideal candidate will have a background in AR/accounting, and we welcome applicants with an Accounting/Finance degree and a couple of years of work experience.
Responsibilities
Work with delinquent accounts over 13 days past due to bring them to current status and maintain them.
Discuss the status of non-performing accounts with the Accounts Receivable Supervisor weekly to determine future collection actions.
Review past due accounts to identify which customers need to be contacted for collection.
Follow company policy in the collection of overdue accounts and refer non-routine accounts to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor.
Prepare reports on findings and actions taken for past due accounts under investigation.
Interview customers by telephone to investigate complaints, verify charges, or correct errors in accounts.
Review order details for payment issues and handle such accounts.
Answer accounts receivable questions within the realm of authority.
Review and handle chargeback claims.
Apply customer payments.
Provide customer account updates for review by the Accounts Receivable Supervisor.
Review customer credit checks for terms applications.
Print daily invoices from the accounting system.
Review and process customer returns.
Occasionally work with the European team on reviewing AR processes.
Email and mail invoices, and occasionally pick up daily incoming mail from the mail lobby.
Handle Helpdesk tickets related to e-commerce customer questions.
Follow instructions and procedures, and escalate any issues impacting workflow or quality.
Exhibit honesty and integrity, and adhere to rules, procedures, and policies.
Essential Skills
Accounts receivable experience
Experience with SAP
Reconciliation skills
Background in AR/accounting
Accounting/Finance degree
A couple of years of work experience in a related field
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience handling returns, credits, reconciliations, and refunds
Experience working in G/L accounts
Customer support experience, including handling Helpdesk tickets
Ability to manage chargeback information and filings
Experience handling bank accounts
Work Environment
This is a fully in-office role, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:40 PM (start time can be flexible as needed). The team consists of 23 people, with 3 people on the immediate team. The work environment is quiet with an open cubicle layout.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
