Job Description:

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the research efforts of a senior lab member. Their responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks crucial to the smooth operation of the laboratory. The candidate will be involved in maintaining cell cultures, preparing stock solutions, and submitting orders to maintain adequate supplies and reagents. Duties will include conducting benchtop assays following established protocols, involving handling biological samples and recording data accurately.

The candidate will take ownership of an individual assay and assume responsibility for its execution and the accurate reporting of results. While initial supervision will be provided, the candidate is expected to demonstrate the capability to conduct the assay independently with minimal oversight.

Moreover, familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) and mass spectrometry is advantageous. While hands-on experience in these techniques is a bonus, the laboratory is open to providing training and mentorship to candidates who possess theoretical knowledge but lack practical exposure. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform wet bench experiments such as conducting laboratory tests to maintain cell culture, conduct benchtop assays following established protocols involving handling biological samples and recording data accurately.

  • Provide assistance to other researchers in the laboratory that may include data and figures for manuscripts with a senior lab member.

  • Perform dry bench work that includes reporting accurate data results based off experiments.

  • Perform lab Maintenance to ensure the laboratory is stocked with materials and order supplies if needed.

  • Maintain an organized workspace.

  • Receive and properly handle reagents.

Expected Salary:

Commensurate with experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Mass Spectrometry.

  • Familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography).
