A Brief Overview
The Clinical Labs Education Coordinator is responsible for the orientation, training, and education of all Clinical Laboratory staff. This position is also responsible for the education and internship programs for the Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Laboratory Technician and Phlebotomist programs. Coordinates with other educational programs including pathology residents, fellows, scholars and researchers. The coordinator is also able to perform the duties and functions of the Staff and Senior Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

What you will do
Interviews candidates for internships and provides feedback for selection.
Plans, coordinates, manages and monitors the Clinical Laboratory Scientist and Medical Laboratory Technician internship programs and implements training and testing required to ensure that all phlebotomists are certified by the California state Department of Health Laboratory Field Services
Teaches theory, laboratory science, interpretation and quality control to students and other professional staff including clinical laboratory scientists, pathology residents, fellows, scholars and researchers.
Writes reviews and edits protocols and procedures as needed, and periodically reviews procedures for accuracy and completeness.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university
Experience Qualifications
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions and interpret results
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus
Ability to plan, organize, develop tactical plans and set priorities
Ability to solve problems and identify solutions
Knowledge and understanding of the processes, methods and operations in functional area(s) of responsibility
Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area
Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility
Licenses and Certifications

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $71.71 - $80.74 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
