Aerotek Lead Fueler in PALO ALTO, California

Job Title: Lead Aircraft Ramp Agent & Refueler

$27-28/hour DOE. Day shift Tuesday - Saturday.

Job Description

As a Lead, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of aircraft ground services. Your duties will primarily focus on fueling aircraft but may also include assisting with aircraft maintenance, equipment operation, and support for other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Fuel Aircraft: Operate fuel trucks and equipment to safely refuel aircraft according to company and safety protocols.

  • Aircraft Servicing: Perform routine services such as refilling oil, washing aircraft, and conducting pre-flight inspections.

  • Assist Maintenance Team: Support A&P mechanics in basic aircraft maintenance tasks, including tire changes and general upkeep of the shop.

  • Organize Maintenance Hangar: Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the maintenance hangar, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.

  • Leadership Opportunities: Take on leadership roles in keeping the shop tidy and efficient, with potential to grow into the maintenance department.

  • Collaborate with Departments: Assist other airport and airline departments as needed, including ramp operations, baggage handling, and customer service.

  • Equipment Operation: Safely drive company vehicles, including fuel trucks and tugs, to perform various tasks around the ramp.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment at all times.

Essential Skills

  • Heavy lifting

  • Experience as a Ramp Agent, Ramp Associate, Cargo Handler, or Fueler

  • Ability to handle fueling and heavy equipment

  • General labor and washing experience

  • Adherence to safety protocols

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Clean driving record with the ability to operate heavy equipment (fuel trucks, tugs, etc.).

  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

  • Willingness to work weekends and flexible hours as needed.

  • Strong interest in aircraft maintenance with potential to move into the maintenance department.

  • Leadership qualities with strong organizational skills to keep the shop tidy and efficient.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

  • Ability to climb up/down a 12-foot ladder multiple times a day.

Work Environment

Environment: Hangar with 50 planes on site, working mainly outside. Team Size: 5 team members on site. Dress Code: Jeans/work pants, closed-toed shoes, t-shirt/jacket, beanies okay during cold weather. Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with required weekend shifts. Culture: Relaxed, laid-back environment where accuracy and safety are prioritized.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PALO ALTO, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.00/hr.
