A Brief Overview

Under the general direction of the imaging services manager performs a variety of job duties. Assists with patient flow for all sub departments. Assists technologists with all paratechnical aspects of patient exams. Maintains exam room supply levels and keeps work areas clean. As necessary assists front office staff with scheduling, checking in of patients and various other tasks relating to patient's arrival. Interacts with patients, staff, physicians and general public in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner.

What you will do

  • Assists front desk staff with checking in patients, scheduling and related clerical duties, as backup when necessary.

  • Reports any problems to supervisor

  • Assists physicians during injections.

  • Assists with patient flow and room turnaround for all imaging departments. Transports and assists nonambulatory patient to and from exam tables.

  • Expedites throughput of patients by assisting technologists with completion of exam via IDXRad, preparing exams for reading, delivering films to patients if needed.

  • Informs patients as to the status if their exams (i.e. start time, delays etc). Assists patients with health questionnaire/consent forms and delivers to technologists.

  • Performs necessary tracking for daily productivity. Faxes preliminary radiology reports to appropriate clinicians.

  • Runs films through processor and checks to ensure that all series are filmed. Prepares/delivers films to appropriate reading room with comparison films. Loads film into proper magazine.

  • Sets up exam rooms for procedures (i.e. proper coils, set up trays, prepares for injections)

  • Shows patients to dressing room; assists with patient changing, if needed. Assures that patients are provided with a locker to secure their valuables, and answers questions related to the exam.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Experience Qualifications

  • One (1) year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization

  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $30.00 - $33.79 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
