VCA Animal Hospitals Veterinary Technician Supervisor in Parker, Colorado

Day to day responsibilities of the technician supervisor include : overseeing the technicians and assistants, staff scheduling, hiring and training of new employees, collaborating with the doctors, establishing the daily schedule, working to develop protocols to continually improve the quality of medicine. The individual in this role will also work closely with the Hospital Manager and Medical Director. Essential skills for the technician supervisor include : venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication administration, pharmaceutical knowledge, basic radiology skills, anesthesia monitoring, the ability to stay calm and multi-task with a high case load, delegating and supervising subordinates, hiring, training and development of staff.
In the supervisor role, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Directing work flow on the floor
Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills
Help with the interview process for potential new hires
Technician Scheduling
Assists in staffing and coverage where needed
Assists in basic protocol and standard procedure training
Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience
Mentoring technicians within the department
Working with department doctors to develop protocols to improve the service
Ensure that VCA polices, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff.
Candidates for this position must have prior supervisory experience, be organized, flexible, willing to work toward conflict resolution able to work independently in addition to being a team player.

The salary range for this position is $23-$33 / hour based on experience
