THE POSITION

Do you want to work for a team that is committed to creating success, inside and out? The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Dallas is seeking a highly motivated and dependable Corrections Stock Clerk to join our staff. Take the next step in your career with us!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Stock Clerk for the Department of Corrections, you will handle the receipt, storage, distribution, and inventory control activities for a variety of stock items and supplies in the inmate clothing exchange/laundry department as well as the commissary area.

You will be responsible for inventorying stock and receiving, storing, and issuing supplies and raw materials. This includes training and monitoring inmate workers in the receipt, storage, distribution, and inventory control activities for a variety of stock items and supplies. You will also prepare routine reports and operating motor vehicles, forklifts, or hand trucks to move oversized or heavy items, remove scrap materials, or make deliveries. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week.

  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of stockroom, warehouse, retail sales, or clerical experience;or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Special Requirement:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must have possession of an active motor vehicle license which is currently not under suspension.

    Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

    Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
