Job Description As an Engineering Grant Writer, you will serve in a support role related to municipal infrastructure planning, design, and construction projects. This position is available in our Perrysburg, OH office with an opportunity to work a hybrid schedule. Responsibilities:
Assist the engineering staff in all phases of grant development, evaluation, and compliance which includes:
- Pre-award grant writing,
- The coordination of grant applications.
- Post award support for grant-funded projects.
- Managing the grant report process.
- Successfully closing out grant projects with final budget and report outcomes to stakeholders.
Establish and optimize processes for leading internal and external clients in pursuing funding opportunities.
Develop and maintain a grant management system for funded grants that includes report due dates, budget adherence, and any other grant requirements.
Communicate frequently with client account managers, technical and practice group leads to pre-position planned projects with applicable funding opportunities prior to Notice of Funding Opportunity or other grant announcements (particularly for recurring grant programs).
Prepare complex spreadsheets.
Implement the use of technology to assist with grants development and management.
Formulate comprehensive sources and uses of funds reports and simulate multiple project funding scenarios.
Review documents for quality including grammar, style, content, format, internal consistency, and organization in support of environmental compliance and reporting.
- Associates degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Planning, Marketing, Education or a related experience.
- At least one year of grant writing experience and a minimum of 3 years in the water and/or wastewater field.
- Strong technical editing, supportive advisory and collaboration skills.
- Advanced knowledge of regulatory compliance and specialized terminology.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiar with funding sources, compliance requirements, and the legal and fiscal policies of applicable government agencies.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Possess a thorough understanding of water, sewer, and storm sewer regulatory requirements, including those from State, Federal, and EPA agencies.
- Competent in identifying and interpreting regulatory requirements and documents.
- Effective at client interaction.
