DESCRIPTION
Leads the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while leading and co-leading teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Leads specific projects to create and implement all aspects of manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.
Applies knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices to improve equipment and processes.
Utilizes continuous improvement tools, follows Cummins standards, and develops manufacturing standards and working methods.
Communicates with and influences key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members.
Works with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.
Maintains relationships and coaches key stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledge and Skills:
Leads Manufacturing Engineering activities, including planning, designing, purchasing, and implementing integrated manufacturing assembly or machining processes.
Expertise in process planning, capital purchase process, equipment installation & commissioning, and preparation of documents like FMEA, Control Plan, SWM, Time Study, Line Balancing, Controls, and Machine Maintenance.
Experience with layout optimization, RFQ, negotiations, CAPEX, tool engineering, Jigs & Fixtures, GD&T, cash flow, IRR, and NPV.
Knowledge of cylindrical parts (Crank, Cam, etc.) machining, grinding, and super finishing processes along with measurement.
Determines manufacturing processes required to achieve goals according to product specifications.
Identifies and resolves product and performance issues in collaboration with engineering teams.
Plans and designs methods to improve production efficiency and trains line employees on new processes and methods.
Improves equipment availability and capability through continuous improvement initiatives.
Defines manufacturing standard working methods and supports capital acquisition, capacity planning, and change control.
Coaches and mentors less experienced Manufacturing Engineers.

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Education: College, university, or degree in Mechanical,Industrial Engineering or Mechatronics is required.
Experience: 10-14 years of relevant work experience required.
