Assistant Equipment Manager - Temporary

Job Description Summary

The Assistant Equipment Manager provides direct support to DRIA's Equipment Operations Staff for the Fall 2024-Spring 2025 season. This position will assist in all areas of the daily equipment operations for the varsity athletic programs and department as a whole. These tasks include assisting with gear issuance, equipment maintenance, practice and gameday needs, travel needs, daily laundry duties, organization, receiving, inventory, upkeep of equipment and laundry facilities, and student staff supervision.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day equipment operations of varsity athletic programs as assigned, such as laundry operations, gear issuance, equipment maintenance, organization, practice and gameday setup and breakdown, travel, etc.

  • Assist in coordinating and facilitating daily laundry operations of varsity athletic programs including practice laundry, competition uniforms, and shower towels

  • Assist in overall upkeep of equipment rooms and storage areas

  • Assist in receiving and inventory of new product shipments relative to the respective equipment rooms

  • Assist in oversight and training of student staff, intern staff, work study staff

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree plus 0-2 years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience working with college athletics or professional sports department preferred; knowledge of NCAA regulations a plus; excellent customer service skills; strong organizational skills; ability to lift 25 lbs or more.
