DESCRIPTION OF WORK Food Service Workers at the Delaware Valley Veterans' Home play a key role in meal preparation and maintaining cleanliness throughout food preparation and serving areas. Your duties include thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, work surfaces, and other related items. You will also be responsible for assembling meal trays, accurately measuring portions, serving food, and delivering trays and nourishment to designated areas. In addition, this role involves operating a variety of kitchen equipment, including mixers, dicers, slicers, knives, and grinders, ensuring smooth kitchen operations and high standards of food service.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week Work hours are 2nd shift (10:30 AM to 7:00 PM), rotating days and weekends, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualification (not required): Previous food service work experience preferred.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
