What part will you play?

The Project Operations Manager is responsible for leadership and development of project operation associates in a specific territory. They will lead strategy, development, resourcing, implementation and continuous process improvement for their team. The Project Operations Manager is responsible for enforcing standards and processes that increase the quality, velocity, and efficiency for our project teams. In addition, the role will focus on continuous improvement, guaranteeing our project teams are delivering consistent products and projects for our clients regardless of where they were fabricated. This role is responsible for collaborating with the PMO and engineering team, ensuring project operations is aligned with the needs of our clients and the business unit needs. This role reports to the Project Operations Territory Lead. This role will work with leadership to ensure efficient projects that delight our customers and meet business objectives. The role is accountable for communicating, motivating, mentoring, as well as navigating the business.

This is a virtual role, with 30-50% national travel.

What will you be doing?

  • Directing and advising onsite staff as to their accountabilities and responsibilities including work status, quality, construction supervision, working with General Contractors and Sub Contractors, workforce supervision, working with project managers, client contacts and in general, relevant aspects of construction site coordination impacting successful and high quality delivery.

  • Work with Business Unit Leaders and Peers to ensure cohesive operations, working together toward common results and goals.

  • Areas of focus include but are not limited to:

  • Processes and Standards

  • Governance

  • Reporting

  • Efficient Project processes from Conversion to Closure

  • Continual improvement Empower project operations associates to take ownership and accountability of client interactions, projects, timelines, reporting, and deliverables.

  • Developing and enhancing standards and processes in collaboration with the PMO, engineering, and business units, guaranteeing client satisfaction and profitable projects.

  • Drive velocity and efficiency in project fulfillment via standards, processes, reporting, governance, and oversight.

  • Collaboration with training leadership to ensure career pathing and associated training opportunities are available for our associates. Help define and administer training programs for new hires and staff resources

  • Break down silos, build bridges amongst divergent groups, driving an inclusive one company mindset.

  • Ensure training and skill set development of associates to allow for execution of projects supporting all Business Units.

  • Drives risk assessment analysis, holding leaders and managers accountable to following defined processes.

  • Translate company mission and vision into satisfied associates, client experiences, and profitable projects.

  • Ensure project operations readiness with the ability to dive in and out of details as needed.

  • Strong understanding of project operations: project initiation, project turnover, design, fabrication, and commissioning standards.

  • Collaborate with planning to provide appropriate resources for cross territory projects, hybrid system projects and multi-discipline projects.

  • Set standards for project operations in resource planning and standardization through appropriate tools; hold leaders accountable for strict adherence. Short term and long-term initiatives.

  • Ability to utilize operations metrics to ensure strategy is in alignment and course correct quickly when there are gaps. Maximize resource utilization throughout Territory and Business to ensure sure we load balance projects, mix teams to cover large projects and assign the most skilled teams for each situation.   Maintain Territory and Business unit KPI’s.

  • Work closely with the project management team working on the new ERP to develop and deploy internal project management tools (Bill of Materials, Change Management, etc.)  

  • Work closely with the integration team to develop and deploy internal project integration tools (run lists, inventory tracking, etc.)   

  • Understand and advise, during the intake meetings, industry standards and incorporate best practices within the business around operations.

  • Collaborate with the IT and business systems team in creating and maintaining a shared sites associated with each project(DPC/other) and the associated tools.  

  • Assist with sales and/or project needs as available.  

  • Participates in project kickoff, financial, and after action/lessons learned meetings. Work with functional group leaders to capture lessons learned for utilization across project operations group and Assists in managing and tracking Cross Regional/Cross Divisional (XR/XD) projects.  

  • Supervises each office in the region with strategic decisions and serves as a resource for associates  

  • Promote a positive culture of creative thinking to inspire higher standards and a positive work atmosphere.  

  • Conducts professional and effective conflict resolution.

Our compensation ranges reflect the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The pay details below range from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience depending on the position offered, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
