First Health of the Carolinas Administrative Director, Emergency Services in Pinehurst, North Carolina

Assures that Emergency Department objectives are established, approved by Vice President, Patient Care/CNO, and outcomes demonstrated. Plans and directs the development, administration, and evaluation of the emergency department budget (operating and capital) and maintains accountability for sound fiscal management. Plans/implements/markets/evaluates new services in conjunction with the Emergency Service Line leadership. Coordinates/oversees all activities for the Emergency department. Assures presentation and evaluation of clinical utilization, cost/financial, marketing, performance improvement, and customer satisfaction data. Prepares/submits an annual Service Line report to include activities/outcomes. Oversees and follows-up on daily operations and serves as administrative resource to Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Managers. Reviews/updates/approves clinical/administrative policies/procedures, standards of care, practice, and performance. Assures system standardization of policies, procedures, and protocols. Oversees/controls all personnel selection, termination, disciplinary, and evaluation processes. color:black">Assesses staff morale and physician satisfaction and takes action as indicated to assure positive relations.color:black"> Assures the development/implementation of proper procedures to meet all regulatory body standards with a review, every three (3) years or on an as needed basis, of all policies/ standards of care/guidelines. Is delegated responsibility and accountability for assuring current licensure for RNs and current listing cards for NAs and other professionals as required by regulatory bodies. Utilizes comparative reports to obtain top quartile performance in quality and customer satisfaction. Assures the development/implementation/evaluation of a quality, risk management, and customer relations programs in conjunction with the Service Line. Rotates Executive Patient Care Services call. Accepts responsibility for Patient Care Services in absence of Vice President, Patient Care Services/CNO, as delegated. Assures an on-call administrative person for the clinical areas 24 hours/day 7 days/week. Evaluates/assures analysis and follow-up on referred Quality and Risk Management issues. Represents Nursing/Patient Care Administration at departmental meetings, as delegated. Assures availability/accessibility by making regular rounds on all shifts. Chairs Committees and Councils, as delegated by Vice President, Patient Care Services/CNO. Current North Carolina RN license or RN multi-state licensure privilege through the Nurse Licensure Compact. Bachelors in nursing required. Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred. Minimum of three (3) years proven Nursing Management experience required. Five (5) years emergency experience required.
