    Position Summary

    The Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring effective individualized Behavior health programs for each assigned student. The BHS also assists the classroom teacher in the development, implementation, and monitoring of individualized academic programs and the Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP) for each assigned student. The BHS is a member of the classroom team.

    Essential Responsibilities

  • To assure effective academic, behavioral and mental health programming for each student which results in progress and program completion.

  • To assure comprehensive documentation of all behavioral progress.

  • To assure the continuous safety of all students

  • To assure the continuing development of professional skills

    Qualifications

  • Clearances. State Police; FBI clearance; child abuse clearance; CPSL Mandated Reporter-Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training; any additional background checks/clearances required by state governing bodies.

  • Valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.

    Working Conditions

  • Physical Demands. This position requires a moderate to high level of physical activity. Employee must meet minimum requirements for Hearing, Speech and Vision.

  • Working Hours. As assigned
