Job Description :
GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Performs continuous observations, interpretation, and communication of cardiac rhythms for cardiac patients; performs sheath removals. Assists and supports the nurses and physicians in the care of the cardiology patient population through direct and indirect patient care activities.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accurately analyzes and interprets ECG rhythms according to procedures. (20%)
Maintains continuous assessment of ECG rhythm at central monitor and during patient transport. Identifies changes and responds or reports as appropriate. (20%)
Demonstrates knowledge of central station and bedside monitors. Maintains alarms at appropriate levels. (15%)
Contributes to achievement of department, division, and organization goals. (10%)
Demonstrates competency in removal of sheaths, groin management, insertion of IVs. Accurately documents sheath removal per facility policy. (25%)
Recognizes clinically significant changes in patient condition, reports to appropriate personnel and follows Hematoma Protocol. (10%)
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
Basic cardiac dysrhythmia training or successful completion of a cardiac dysrhythmia training course upon hire
CPR – American Heart Association
Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
