Berkshire Community College ESOL Instructor in Pittsfield, Massachusetts

Under the general supervision of the Director of the Berkshire Community College Adult ESOL Program, the ESOL Instructor provides in-person English reading, writing, speaking and listening skills instruction to adult, non-native English speakers. The instructor will develop dynamic, differentiated, and scaffolded lessons to help all students achieve their educational, career and personal goals. Additional responsibilities include lesson planning, curriculum development, staff meetings and professional development. Requirements: - Prepare for and teach an adult ESOL class - Ability to teach in multiple modalities including in-person, remote in-person, asynchronous - Develop student-centered, contextualized lessons that align with the AEP Scope and Sequence and MA ELPS - Integrate digital literacy skills, civics, and workforce preparation into instruction - Strong computer skills, including knowledge of various online instructional resources and learning management systems - Assign and correct asynchronous assignments that reinforce in-class instruction - Submit necessary student attendance, goals, lesson plans, and any other information required in compliance with all deadlines - Assist with student advising, goal setting and supporting students in the achievement of educational and career goals - Provide input and/or participate in program development activities - Attend staff and curriculum meetings and participate in professional development training - Perform special projects and related responsibilities as initiated and requested Additional Information: - Source of Funding: 03 Fund - Salary: \$30.00 - \$31.00; part-time; non-benefited - Area of Assignment: Adult Learning Program - Effective Dates: August 2024 - June 2025; potential for annual contract renewal
