The DI SW Legal department is a global team located all over the world, with its headquarters in the US. As Siemens DI SW continues to expand our global presence and navigate the complex landscape of software and cloud services, we recognize the need for a seasoned legal professional to join our Legal team as Legal Counsel.

The Central Legal Hub is a team of legal experts providing support from multiple locations around the US, with diverse individual areas of expertise operating as a single cohesive unit, that leverages the strength of teamwork and a uniquely global perspective to address both ongoing and unexpected legal challenges of the continuously evolving DI SW business

What role will you play?

You will be a legal partner to the Siemens DI SW business as part of the Central Legal Hub.

You will play a crucial role in shaping the global legal strategy; balancing recurring standard transactional demands and novel legal scenarios; and ensuring the seamless integration of various business needs into our corporate framework. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who is agile in their areas of expertise; is capable of managing a high volume of agreements and navigating high-complexity transactions; while simultaneously promoting the digitalization and automation of key legal processes to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness.

We expect you to:

Agreement Management:

  • Autonomously negotiate and manage a high volume of agreements, ranging from standard to highly complex, ensuring compliance with regulatory and policy requirements, while maintaining a customer focus.

  • Act as the lead or sole legal business partner for non-standard or unique transactions such as for new business models or newly acquired companies pre-integration.

Digitalization Projects:

  • Identify opportunities for digitalization and automation solutions to streamline legal operations.

  • Participate in or lead projects aimed at enhancing global processes and improving efficiencies.

Global Reach:

  • Perform the above responsibilities on a global scale, collaborating with international teams and serving as a point of contact for legal matters in various jurisdictions and across multiple time zones.

  • Ensure seamless communication and coordination between legal and business teams across different regions.

Internal Team and Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional teams within the organization, providing legal insights to support business objectives.

  • Act as a key legal advisor on strategic initiatives and projects.

We are looking for

  • a fully qualified lawyer (US JD, LL.M. or comparable degree from another jurisdiction and admission to practice law in the jurisdiction)

  • Fluent in English (mother tongue or long-term work experience in English drafting, EU level C2)

  • 10+ years of experience in transactional law as the lead legal partner in negotiations, with a focus on software and cloud services

  • a proven track record of managing complex agreements and transactions on a global scale

  • High awareness of client satisfaction and strong ability to work with different cultures

  • Willingness to closely collaborate and regularly communicate with your Central Legal team members

Desirable:

Experience in leading or participating in digitalization projects.

Experience with working for a US software or technology company in an international setting.

Siemens Software. Transform the Everyday

The salary range for this position is $120,800 to $217,400 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
